911 Memorial Museum Photos
On May 21, 2014 the museum portion of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum had officially opened to the public. Weeks earlier we’d already signed up for a one year membership in support of this institution and on May 26 we were fortunate to have attended. It’s an extraordinary and almost indescribable experience to be able to visit such a locale that’s filled with such a vast number of artifacts recovered from the destruction of September 11, 2001. At once unsettling and forever humbling is the emotional reaction one gets from entering through its doors. We did return yet again months later and have repeatedly visited the surrounding memorial; freely open to all who wish to visit. Of course there’s a cost for entry to the museum itself but it’s a worthwhile thing for everyone to participate in at least once in their lives.
Here below are just portion of the many photos taken on that day of our visit. We post them today in advance of this year’s expected Tribute in Light display taking place in two weeks time.
