City Island Bridge
This swing bridge made of steel and stone and which crosses over Eastchester Bay is found in the borough of the Bronx. It connects City Island with Rodman’s Neck. Traffic along this bridge and within the main street of City Island can be rather heavy on special days such as holidays during the warmer months due to all the many folks heading to their favorite seafood restaurant on the island.
Construction on this bridge began in 1899 and the bridge opened in 1901.
