2019 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration in City Hall

On Wednesday, October 16, 2019 the office of New York City Council Speaker, Corey Johnson and The Black, Latino and Asian Caucus of the NYC Council presented the 2019 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration within NYC’s City Hall Council Chambers.
Practically brimming with attendants from wall to wall the evening had a number of presenters and speakers as well as honored guests. Present as well were quite a number of performers carrying out dances representative of various Latin American Countries and Cultures.

Remarks were presented by District 27 Council Member I. Daneek Miller; District 10 Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez; and by Council Speaker Corey Johnson himself, amongst others.

Honorees this evening included Maria Ivonne Garcia, Henry Garrido, Blanca Morales and Maria Ortiz.
Performers for the evening included members of the Karla Florez School of Dance; Los Campeones De La Marinera; Tessoro Estrella singing a Spanish language rendition of the United States National Anthem; Casa De La Culutra Venezolana; Raices Del Oriente Boliviano; Escuela Folkorica Chakaymanta USA.
