Interactive Exhibition Submerged
Opens Tuesday, August 5th
At The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum
Get a first look at Submerged, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s new interactive exhibition exploring life on a submarine, as the exhibit opens to the public on Tuesday, August 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue) in Manhattan. Children will be exploring the exhibit and museum educators will be on-hand to answer exhibition questions.
Submerged is a permanent and immersive exhibit that makes the history and function of submarines come alive for children and families. Located in the Museum’s Exploreum, the fully interactive exhibition allows visitors to explore a submarine’s sleeping quarters, mess hall, navigation system and engine room by using a periscope, climbing into a bunk, becoming a sonar operator, and learning how submarines surface, submerge and move through water.
