Lightscape will be open from November 17 through New Year’s Day
Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) will mark the opening of its one-of-a-kind illuminated trail, Lightscape, with a special “Lights On” moment on Friday, November 17 at 5 PM on BBG’s famed Cherry Esplanade. New York City dignitaries will gather to “flip the switch” on the spectacular light exhibition, turning tens of thousands of moving lights on across Cherry Esplanade and officially launching the third year of New York’s contemporary holiday classic featuring more than one million lights across a mile-long trail.
Now in its third year, Lightscape has an expanded and reimagined trail which builds on the natural beauty of BBG’s landscapes, trees, water features, and architectural details, taking visitors on an otherworldly nighttime journey through 18 installations by international light artists and design collectives.
After the “Lights On” moment, press are invited to do a full walkthrough of the stunning, winter wonderland-like trail.
