Come celebrate 50 years of safe streets and transportation advocacy in New York City! A little bit of what to expect: Games and activities, food and drinks, music and dancing, tons of giveaways, community partner booths, AND costumes for a 70s-themed block party.

Transportation Alternatives is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1973 by a group of cyclists who wanted to challenge the dominance of cars in New York City. They believed that biking, walking, and public transit were better ways to move around the city and improve its quality of life. They started by printing leaflets and organizing bike rides to raise awareness and demand safer streets
