Established in 1999 by Marlene Hochman as The Doll and Toy Museum of NYC, they changed they name to The Toy Museum of NY in spring 2009 with the coveted distinction, by the New York State Department of Education, as the holder of the only New York Charter for a toy museum. They are a certified 501(c)3 non-profit educational museum featuring touring exhibitions and educational programs. Their mission is to educate the public on the importance of dolls and toys in our culture, history and art.
